We're looking forward to coming back again and again and again! Thanks to Billy Wagner's recommendation on this app, we discovered this place. We had one of the best croissants for breakfast ever (with burrata and cherry-coffee syrup) the music was well-selected and the atmosphere was cosy.
Annelies is a neighborhood café in Berlin Kreuzberg known for its creative and quality-focused all-day breakfast and lunch menu. The dishes are innovative, with options like scrambled eggs with grated smoked egg yolk and kohlrabi kimchi, and buttermilk pancakes served with granola and maple-berry syrup. Additionally, they offer a selection of cakes prepared in-house, bread and pastries from Albatross Bakery, single-origin coffee from La Cabra in Denmark, and a variety of natural wines.

Berlin breakfast favourite. This cozy breakfast place with a sunny terrace and fireplace inside (when cold) is a must in Berlin. We usually come for the smoked grated egg yolk and scramble toasts with kimchi and the buttermilk pancakes but the breakfast sandwich is also not to be missed. Enough to fill you up until dinner.
Silo Coffee offers a taste of Aussie-style cuisine served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Known for their savory and sweet dishes, they specialize in breakfast and brunch options, with standout items like the bacon and eggs with toppings, avocado toast, and toasted sourdough with poached eggs topped with puttanesca sauce and parmesan. They also serve high-quality coffee from local Fjord Coffee and fresh-baked Anzac oat cookies, ensuring a satisfying finish to your meal.

Silo Coffee in Friedrichshain is a safe breakfast bet in Berlin. Maybe not the most cutting edge, but serving delicious Aussie style savory and sweet dishes and great coffee in a cozy location with nice staff. “The Silo” - bacon and eggs with toppings or the avocado toast are good picks, and the toasted sourdough with poached eggs topped with puttanesca sauce and parmesan is even better. Finish with some fresh brews from local Fjord Coffee and an oven baked pancake with berries, mascarpone and maple syrup. And don’t miss the fresh baked Anzac oat cookies by the counter.
Frühstück 3000 Schöneberg is an all-day breakfast restaurant known for its elevated breakfast classics. The restaurant boasts a sunny space, run by experienced professionals, offering a range of comforting dishes made from high-quality ingredients. Popular recommendations include the crispy chicken waffle, tartar, and vegan Bircher muesli, accompanied by great coffee from a local roastery and a creative drinks menu.

Berlin‘s better breakfastIf you‘re a breakfast and/or brunch lover, look no further than Frühstück 3000 (aka ‚Breakfast 3000‘) in Schöneberg. The beautiful, sunny space on a somehow nondescript corner near Nollendorfplatz is run by a bunch of super nice people and longtime gastro-pros who opened an all-day breakfast restaurant to challenge the many bad breakfast/brunch options in Berlin. It‘s been a great success so far. They work with only the best ingredients and the food is fun and comforting. Portions are generous, there‘s great coffee from a small local roastery and a creative drinks and cocktail menu with lots of non-alcoholic options. Do not miss out on the crispy chicken waffle, the tartar and the vegan Bircher muesli. Best in town!
Julius is a spot that marries French bistro charm with Japanese influence, offering coffee, food, and wine. Known for its simple yet flawlessly executed dishes, the menu changes weekly, reflecting the season and the produce sourced from a close network of small farmers and producers. Notably, Julius offers a Carte Blanche Menu of 8 to 10 courses, hand-roasted coffee, freshly baked pastries, and a selection of biodynamic wines.

Simplicity executed flawlesslyJulius in Berlin-Wedding is perhaps most well known for being the off-shoot, more casual and accessible eatery of Berlin’s trailblazing minimilist fine dining restaurant Ernst. Julius offers both a dinner service and a very casual “cafe style” breakfast and lunch service. My recommendation focuses on the breakfast and lunch service which is refreshingly casual, yet the food is nothing less than flawless. The menu is short, with a focus on simple well executed dishes as well as some small plates of cheeses and meats and other produce from the Ernst larder.Highlights from menu are the perfectly fluffy & gooey omelette with cheese or the caramelised French toast with seasonal compote which is a symphony of flavour and texture. The coffee is hand roasted and brewed which makes for a rather unique but perhaps not world class filter coffee - but we’re here for the food so that’s ok.If you’re looking for a simple, yet flawless brunch Julius is your spot.
