Seriously delicious and creative Mexican restaurant in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Oxomoco is a Michelin-starred restaurant. And not without merit. Actually, in many ways, Oxomoco is the kind of restaurant I would want to see more of on the guide: Relaxed restaurant with friendly service mixed with innovative and tasty cooking. The famous tacos are a heavenly mix of fresh quality ingredients and perfect cooking. Service experience is friendly and helpful. Being a vegetarian, I had beetroot tacos and sweet potato tlayda - both fantastic. My party also had the meat and fish dishes and loved everything. Swordfish tacos were apparently the ”best Mexican food ever tasted”. Even the humble guacamole impressed - I don’t usually like the ”innovative” version on staples. But here, avocados with smoked cherry tomatoes and queso fresco really worked great.
Taqueria Ramirez is a small, yet authentic taco spot known for its exceptional flavors. Their menu, though simple, is carefully crafted, offering succulent and flavorful options such as al pastor, longaniza, and tripa. Despite having only ten seats, this adds to the overall atmosphere of the place, making it a cozy and inviting destination for taco lovers.

With a simple yet carefully crafted menu, this small spot in Brooklyn delivers big on flavor and authenticity. The unique aroma of the broth, made with chile-laced bovine innards stewing in pork fat, is enough to lure passersby in from the street. You have to try the al pastor, longaniza and tripa - all so succulent and flavorful. The small space only has ten seats, but that just adds to the atmosphere.
Falansai is a Vietnamese-Mexican restaurant in Bushwick, Brooklyn, established in 2013 and reimagined in 2020. Chef Eric Tran is a former Blue Hillian, but I think I learned more from him than he from me. Incredibly delicious, located in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
