A cultural hub meets a Michelin-starred restaurant – that’s Duddell’s in a nut shell.
Located in central Hong Kong, the restaurant has a distinctive spirit and sense of place. While it feels fresh and happening, it also feels like it’s been there forever, thanks to the brilliant interior design by Ilse Crawford (as well as a group of loyal regulars, I would assume, since Duddell’s feels refreshingly local).
Food at Duddell’s is always inspiring and beautifully made. Many dishes will taste like your typical Cantonese, but with added finesse to every single detail. You sense the time and skill that went into the making of that superb crispy roasted chicken.
A dim sum lunch at Duddell’s is my idea of a perfect meal, a type of laid-back luxury that is not too easy to find. Hat’s off to Duddell’s, for not just getting the atmosphere and food right but also managing to sustain it.
