New wood-fired concept by Endo is one of the most unique and outstanding dining experiences in London right now.Wood fire-based cooking may not be anything new, but somehow the offering at Humo feels totally unique. While the 10 foot-long fire pit seems rather extravagant and is a showpiece in its own right, what it allows is for each and every ingredient on the plate to speak for themselves. There’s really no hiding behind fancy foams or overly complex cooking techniques. But that’s the precisely the beauty of the food here at Humo. Exceptionally sourced ingredients, cooked by a brilliant team with exceptional skills. There are definitely Japanese influences as well as Spanish, but overall the menu is hard to pigeonhole as one or the other. I dare say the entire experience is more interesting for it. We were hugely impressed with the service. Warm, knowledgeable, effortless - without the slightest hint of uptightness that you often see in Mayfair. The wine list is focused, well curated and positively unpredictable. The sommelier: outstanding. Hands down the most enjoyable top end dining experience we’ve had in London in a long time.
