Totally, totally bonkers! Like proper mad. The food is good, clean and fresh Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavours but the pomp and theatre grows tiresome. The chef is a mix of German and Iranian and announces himself to the table, returning for every course in a black suit and tie to present the menu. This restaurant is more about the chef than the food, and that's a shame. At one point, huge speakers are wheeled to the table and there's a whole theatrical reenactment of a Persian prince delivering the lamb course (it has to be seen to be believed). It's very bright, very colourful, very crass, pretentious, and very Versace - all very Dubai.
