The one restaurant I always recommend is my friend's restaurant in Chinatown, called Loon Fung. It's above a Chinese supermarket and Mr. Lee who owns this restaurant has been a family friend of ours for over 40 years, and he's probably one of the only original Hong Kong restaurateurs left in Chinatown. When ever we go there, we’re welcomed like family and all the staff know us. Mr Lee is an incredible dim sum chef and we like to chat about about different techniques and he likes to teach me about older style dim sum which isn't available in the UK anymore. His food reminds me of the food of Hong Kong. My favourite dim sum here are the steamed whelks in a kind of a Malay curry sauce. I also love their egg tarts, because the art of making that laminated, crumbly enough pastry is such a wonderful skill. It's a truly special eating experience.
Chinese food is a must for any visitor to London. Be it a lunch of Dim Sum, a festive Cantonese dinner or some spicy Sichuanese noodles, this list guides you to all the best Chinese restaurants in London.
