Picones de María has become very popular since Jorge Muñoz is back in the kitchen after previously working in places like Tasquita de Enfrente, Mugaritz or Atrio. A place that when you see it from outside, you would never expect such a high quality cuisine, up to the point where it has become a favorite for many food lovers in the city.

Let’s focus on what we ate. The tasting menu was divided into 4 blocks, let’s talk about
Block 1 (“Our classics”) in this post (check out the next post for the rest of the tasting menu):
* Cured beef (cecina) croquette.
* “Txistorra” with egg yolk.
* “Ensaladilla Rusa” (Spanish potato salad).
* “Gambas al ajillo” (prawns in garlic and olive oil).
* Marinated Oyster.
* Smoked sardines with “papada ibérica” (pork jowl).
Block 2: Tuber Melanosprum in three cuts:
* Truffle and croissant. Truffle, bread and bacon.
*Truffle, bread and dry aged beef.
Block 3: Temporary essence:
* Peas from Maresme with egg.
* Stewed Pig's ear.
* Broad beans from "La Granja" and pig trotters "Espardeña" (sea cucumber) and (pig
"rabito"
Block 4: Sweet ending and curfew: L'ambroisie.
