't Fornuis has been run by chef Johan Segers, who is in his 70’s and still runs his kitchen in an amazing way. He only does à la carte and doesn't have a written menu, he will explain what he’s serving by the table. The way he describes his dishes is mouth watering and to be honest he can sell you anything. He cooks classical and seasonal dishes like scallops with black truffles, North Sea crab in a simple salad style, beautiful main courses like venison and chicken, all kinds of delicious things. Last time when I visited with six friends we took all 12 main courses because they sounded so delicious. The restaurant is in three floors, the charm of the chef is unique and as I think he will not continue that long, if you're visiting within the coming years, this is must.
