Niklas Ekstedt is a Swedish chef known for his open fire-cooking restaurants in Stockholm and London. He started gaining recognition at the age of 21 when he opened his first restaurant in Helsingborg in the south of Sweden. Restaurant Niklas was a success and received several culinary awards. At the Ekstedt restaurants in Stockholm and London, everything is cooked over open fire, often in traditional cast iron skillets, mostly using birch wood - no gas or electricity allowed.
