Like Indian? How about Indian-ish? Superkhana debuted in Chicago in 2019 with a lot of buzz. Why? Partners Zeeshan Shah and Yoshi Yamada, along with Lula Cafe's Jason Hammel, gained a following with their Bombay Breakdown pop-ups and turned it into this whimsical space where a wood-burning oven is a focal point in the kitchen. If you like your food with some heat, you're going to love the Chinese broccoli, the chilli cheese naan (which I liken to a jalapeno pizza) and the chana chaat. I'm not a huge fan of sardines but loved the thepla taco, which features larger meatier milder sardines with achaar aioli and pickles. If you go in warmer months, ask to sit outside where you'll feel transported outside of Chicago.
